Invideo Meeting 1990

Coloured Rhythm
Continuity and linguistic evolution in the abstract audiovisual

The Coloured Rhythm meeting: continuity and linguistic evolution in the abstract audiovisual took place in July in collaboration with the Bergamo Film Meeting. It was the first meeting reflecting on the aesthetics of art created "with" and "for" video. The meeting took as its theme the relationship between abstract art and moving images, examining their evolution and concentrating on , in particular, three historic moments: the historic avant-guard of "pure cinema", American underground cinema and the birth of video, and the arrival of the computer on the graphic art scene.
The meeting was directed by Romano Fattorossi, Felice Pesoli, Roberto Provenzano, and was presented by John Whitney.
