International Exhibition of Art Video and Cinema
Beyond
Invideo
2001 (7-11 November 2001) took place for
the first time at the Spazio Oberdan in
Milan, the prestigious headquarters of the
Fondazione Cineteca Italiana (Italian Film
Library Foundation). An adhoc environment
was created: the attendees were able to
watch the videos on monitors in the entrance
as well as on a big screen in the projection
room. In total, the public had at its disposition
four monitors and one big screen. Beyond
this, they could also admire the "Trittico
Marghera" ("Marghera Triptych"),
a video installation by Studio Azzurro on
three screens. An increasingly loyal and
attentive public (a total of 7,000 spectators)
were presented with 100 works from 13 countries.
Alongside the new works a selection of 125
video art classics from 14 countries were
also shown, representing the best international
and Italian works from the 1980s and 1990s
to be deposited at the "Medialogo"
videotheque. The public was also able to
participate in a number of meetings with
Italian and international filmmakers. Beyond
the meetings, with the various auteurs present
(including, Silvano Agosti, Yervant Gianikian,
Angela Ricci-Lucchi and Mario Canali to
mention a few) the following seminars also
took place:
