International Exhibition of Art Video and Cinema
Beyond
INVIDEO 2002 (6-10 november 2002)
enjoyed a second year of hospitality at the Spazio Oberdan in
Milano, where the public had at its disposition two monitors and
one big screen. Throughout the exhibition spectators could also
interact, thanks to three computer posts, with the website of the
Canadian artist Shirin Kouladjie (www.photomontage.com,
www.daysofmylife.org, www.n3xt.com). An increasingly loyal and
attentive public (a total of 7,500 spectators) was presented with
112 works from 15 countries. Alongside the new works a selection of
109 video art classics from 19 countries were also shown,
representing the best international and Italian works from the
1980s and 1990s to be deposited at the Medialogo videotheque. The
public was also able to participate in a number of meetings with
Italian and international filmmakers on the aesthetics of their
presented works, experimentation in cinema and video and
opportunities for expression offered by new technology.
Beyond the meetings, with the
various auteurs present (including Yervant Gianikian, Angela
Ricci-Lucchi, Giuseppe Baresi, Elisabetta Sgarbi, Carlo Ippolito,
Antonin De Bemels, Vincent Pluss and Ashot Shiroian, to mention a
few) the following seminars also took place:
- Meeting "Tribute to Carmelo Bene", curated by Michele Schiavino
and Lucia di Giovanni.
- Meeting "Words/Without Words: focus on Canadian video ", curated
by Canadian video artist Nelson Henricks.
- Meeting "The virtual actor", curated by Jens Hauser and Sabine
