FUTURE PASTS

 

A new and important INVIDEO’s edition : the International Exhibition of Video and Cinema Beyond celebrates its twenty-five birthday and gives appointment to his affectionate public from October 28th to November 1st in Milan with the theme Future Pasts.

Also this year INVIDEO aims to showcase the best of international and audiovisual experimentation, with a selection of 37 works from all over the world.

In addition to the international selection, as usual there will be plenty of experimentation and research with a focus on international festivals, solo shows dedicated to major names in the video art and training events: the world premiere of Berlin East Side Gallery by Karin Kaper and Dirk Szuszies, the documentary about the Berlin Wall has become the largest open air gallery in the world; the solo exhibition dedicated to French artist and pioneer of video on the web Jacques Perconte; the work of the animator Cristina Diana Seresini; the Swiss Videoex festival, including cinematographic experiments and videoart; Milanese memories from the ‘Seventies in the meeting with Felice Pesoli.

Enough space for the social issues with Cartoni animati in corsia by Avisco with Vincenzo Beschi, Silvia Palermo e Irene Tedeschi - the project of workshops animated films for the young patients of the Ospedale dei bambini in Brescia - and the video portrait of pioneering experiences and cultural resistance of the new theater Kosovo by Anna Maria Monteverdi.

And of course training meetings: three masterclasses in collaboration with IED Milano (Cristina Diana Seresini’s expanded animation. Between video art and commercial design; Monica Manganelli’s creative experience, scenographer art-director and filmmaker; Alain Escalle: from figurative and performing arts to new technologies); two matinées Future Pasts for high school's students curated by Elena Marcheschi; a workshop for teachers and educators curated by Milano Film Network in collaboration with Avisco (Animated Cinema at school); the laboratory Cinema Fantastico for children from 6 to 12 years old curated by Milano Film Network in collaboration with Maddalena Oppici.

There is also an unscheduled programme at INVIDEO 2015: The Ballad of The Homeless by Monica Manganelli, an animated short film selected for the Oscars.

And then the Under 35 Award which will be awarded to a talented author of the competition as an incentive to creativity.

During the whole festival at Spazio Oberdan there will be an interactive audio/video-installation La Valigia dei Ricordi dedicated to the exploration and knoledge of Alzheimer conceived by Cooperativa Paloma 2000 in collaboration with centro Diurno Integrato I Delfini & IED Milano.
