INVIDEO 2019

INVIDEO - 29th  International Exhibition of Video and Cinema Beyond

19th -22nd September 2019

Crema, Centro culturale Sant'Agostino

LUNATICA

This year INVIDEO, now in its 29th edition, is moving. From Milan to Crema. And changes its dates: no longer in November, but at the end of September. It joins the “Close Up” festival, with which it is sharing venues and dates with a view to optimizing costs and expanding the range of the cultural offer.

Crema is a very pretty small town - it was the natural set of Chiamami col tuo nome (Call me by your name) directed by Luca Guadagnino - which has offered to host INVIDEO in its “cultural heart”, the Centro Sant’Agostino, which has cloisters, spaces for screenings, an open-air arena as well as a museum and exhibition areas.

After the reduced edition of last year (“INVIDEO in a day”, in December at the Anteo) we have gone back to the standard four days: from Thursday to Sunday!

This year's edition is LUNATICA: fifty years after the moon landing, looks of a poetic and visionary elsewhere. Urban transformations, social themes, architectural explorations, painting in motion, visual poetry, animated narratives, musical works, cinematographic reinterpretations, hyperbolic choreography... for an experience of vision full of new imaginations, dreams, reflections...

In addition to the works of the INTERNATIONAL SELECTION, special events, including concerts, screenings, performances and meetings with authors. New and brand new works, including dance, architecture, art, music, visual and sound pleasure. Moments to reflect, to enjoy creatively combined images and music, opportunities to meet artists engaged in new languages, in-depth analysis, current events.

Thursday 19, opening day, the artist Ilaria Di Carlo will be in Crema, from Berlin where she works, to present his award-winning work The Divine Way (2018, 15’), a dizzying architectural descent inspired by Dante's Comedy.

Rino Stefano Tagliafierro, one of the most interesting authors of the Italian scenario, will present his own solo show: fantastic and extraordinary animations from the world of art and figurative imagery, and music videos.

Friday 20 Giovanni Coda presents his latest work, recently awarded in the USA, Mark’s Diary (2018, 75’), a touching testimony (between fiction, diary, true stories and choreographic approach) on love and eroticism among disabled people.

Saturday 21 video and live music come together for a tribute to the opera and to Bruno Munari in Opera Riparata (2018, 50’). The duo “Okapi & Aldo Kapi’s Orchestra” takes up a project by Munari, never realized, to create a vertiginous video musical journey in the lyrical opera: a digital game that also involves live improvisation.

Sunday 22, MOON-CCTV (2019, 30’), a tribute to 50 years of the moon landing with the videomusical performance of Matias Guerra, a Chilean artist who imagined an Earth seen from the Moon with mechanical surveillance eyes. Images of a fragile planet are combined by electronic music and live interventions.
