INVIDEO – 27th International Exhibition of Video and Cinema Beyond

None public call will be provided for INVIDEO 2017. This year edition will be presenting to the audience works selected between those chosen by the staff even in international festivals, directly requested to directors, indicated by our foreign collaborators, requested to international distributors or included in specific national programmes (foreign festivals invited to INVIDEO, “carte blanche” to an author or a critic, retrospectives…).

1. Entry requirements:

  • No registration fee required.
  • Exhibition concerns every genre of works (video art, experimental documentaries, found footage, video dance, videoclip, video theatre, experimental animation, video portraits, abstract video, experimental fiction) produced in the last 2 years (2016-2017).
  • No length limit.
  • Screening formats: 35mm, DigiBeta PAL, Beta SP PAL, Blu-ray, DCP, file HD.

Selected films will be requested in the screening format specified on their entry form.

  • Works previously rejected won’t be considered.
  • Preview copies won't be sent back.
  • DVD preview copies must be sent, after having filled in the entry form, by regular mail without charge for INVIDEO. It’s also possible to send links for streaming or download as well as files by e-mail to If you send by regular mail please specify "no commercial value - for cultural purposes"; by EMS (DHL, Federal Express, UPS...) declared custom value must be less than 5,00 Euro or US$ 5,00.
  • All the requested materials must be received by June 30th 2017.

2. Selections:

  • All the required works correctly sent within the deadline will be incontestably judged by INVIDEO's Selection Committee, whose criteria won’t be called into question.
  • The list of the selected videos/films will be available on by October 9th 2017.
  • The selected works will be screened, if possible, in the original format and original language preferably with Italian or English subtitles.
  • Some of the selected works, at INVIDEO staff discretion, will be purchased for the archive c/o La Fabbrica del Vapore in Milan.
  • All the preview copies of the selected works will be kept in our office and made available for consultation.
  • The Festival reserves the right to broadcast excerpts of the selected works (no more than 30") for promotional purposes.

3. Selected works:

  • INVIDEO will pay only one way shipment (inbound or outbound); therefore, directors must make arrangements with producers/distributors/other festivals organisers.
  • Screening copies and materials needed for the editing of the promotional items (images of the video in jpg format/300 dpi, base x height 10x7,5 cm; technical sheets, etc.) will have to be sent following the instructions that will be provided to every single director. Concerning the files it’ll be necessary to arrange the format with INVIDEO organisers.
  • The full version of the selected works mustn’t be available for streaming till the end of the festival.
  • The directors of the selected film could present their video at the Festival; INVIDEO will contribute to the travel and/or accommodation expenses according to its means.

4.  “UNDER 35” Award:

  • Since 2007 INVIDEO awards the UNDER 35 Award to the best young director of the exhibition. It is a purchase prize for the inclusion of the winning works into INVIDEO archive with regular agreement, at a higher price than those normally applied, as encouragement to young directors.
  • The UNDER 35 prize 2017 will be awarded at the incontestable discretion of the INVIDEO Jury. Equal First and Special Mentions are also possible.
  • Selected works in competition are those directed by under 35 directors (born since 1982 onwards). In co-directions all the directors must be under 35 years old.
  • The winning video will be scheduled also after the award ceremony, Sunday November the 19th.
  • The prize could not be awarded.

5. INVIDEO standing activity:

  • After the exhibition, the works acquired in the archive may be circulated for the festival promotion in Italy and abroad, exclusively for its own strictly cultural, non-commercial purposes.
